Geology

What is Geology?
Geology is derived from the greek word , i.e. "earth" and -logia, i.e. "study of. It is a science comprising the study of Earth, the rocks of which it is composed, and the processes by which the rocks change.

Geology gives insight into the Earth's history by providing the primary evidence for plate tectonics, the evolution in life and past study of climates. Geology is important for minerals and hydrocarbons (HC) exploration and exploitation. Geology also plays a role in engineering i.e geotechnical engineering, which is a major academic discipline.
